I am not a monetary expert, but I do have a vision. throughout history people migrated "in flocks" and settled forming villages, towns and then cities together. people must have had more tribal / communal sense of belonging for emerging well-knit dwellings against any type of danger. nowadays, we are way more liberated and secure to travel all the time even individually which freed us but lessened our sense of belonging. I imagine people who still live where their great grand fathers lived may relate to their communities and establish a communal funding system where all the members of each community define themselves and agree on a less monetary more voluntary or social oriented way of life where every member of the community is entitled to food, shelter and education. members of different occupations may volunteer to be fulfilling their roles in academic, social, healthcare sectors,... no monetary transaction takes place between members; however, non-members/visitors/tourists need to pay for the services. Assuming members equally contributes with their efforts, they will live freer sustainable way of life!
