A crash course in changing the world.
In the sea resort town of Aqaba, by the red sea, a relatively dry area, floods came from the mid region, across the mountains and canyons. The most affected, was the water company main piping bring water into the city. For 8 days the city had no potable water, the bottled water sold at $ 10 a bottle. Although there was a local authority system in place, it was not fast enough to properly deal with the serial events of the catastrophe. It was staff from the water company helped by volunteers from NGOs, such as the JREDs who dived into muddy water, where the pipe line broke, and inserted an alternative piping route.
