A crash course in changing the world.
SoHo, New York City- 2010
The microwave dings while I sit on the couch reading my favorite book, Animal Farm. I go to the microwave and take out the small portion of leftover pizza. Nowadays, food is hard to come by, especially for a twenty-three year old college student with a half-time job at the zoo. I can't eat pizza cold; it is disgusting in my opinion. I live with my roomate, Kylie, who has a part-time job at the local morgue. She's working late tonight and will probably be coming back around midnight.
The pizza is not very good, but it will do for now. I have a small stomach, so I hardly eat. When I finish the minute slice then place the plate in the dirty sink. Kylie already volunteered to wash the sink out when she got back from her job, but I decide to scrub the sink until it's gunk-free and load the dishes into the dishwasher. Yeah, that's how I spend dinner, alone.
