My homestate is number 39 on the list of food insecurity. People just don't have enough money to pay for food and other resources. In fact, where I am from, most money is spent on illegal gambling in "Bingo Halls" that the Gov has done little to shut down. According to Bizjournals.com, 13.3% of Alabamian households are food insecure while 5.4% have really low food sources.
Food insecurity is most promenant in the Southern states than anywhere else in the country.

This is an important rule relating to dealing with people. Don't impose your beliefs or culture on others. We Americans tend to do that to foreigners.
