A crash course in changing the world.

holy, peacful world...Oberasbach... a real boring small family-city... Learn 7

I love the idea of Ushahidi! I think this is one of the best ideas I read the last 6 weeks. And I would be glad to take this idea and use it for a problem in my town. But I have a problem…

I live in Oberasbach, a very small city in Germany, near to Nuremberg. It is a typical small city with typical small problems. And it lies in an area, where we don’t really care about natural problems. We have no big rivers, no high mountains, no tornados, blizzards or something else.

I also can say nothing about political problems in the next years and cause of a second way of water supply which were found years ago, we even don’t have too less water when it is the summer of the century.

We have a small asylum house, but no real problems with it.

So what can I tell you? The biggest catastrophe of the last years was a power failure 20 minutes before Germany had a soccer world cup match. The area we live is very healthy and lucky…

The only thing that might become a problem in the next years is a space and capacities problem. We have a lot of development areas around us, but only one big street that comes from all this areas to Oberasbach and goes on to Nuremberg and Fürth (two middle sized cities). A lot of people who want to go to work and a lot of children who have to go to school. Our Gymnasium has 1300 scholars at the moment, but there are not enough places for more. Our secondary school is too small. At the moment every small child can go to kinder garden, but not all can visit a nursery or a hoard.

I fear, that it won’t be possible to make a map for free places on the street, and you can’t help the scholars by finding a chair in school (you cannot visit another school or class each day) but perhaps you can help young mothers when their baby sitter is ill? Of course there are emergency services where you can call and then they will help you. But it often takes time and you won’t come to work by time. So how would it be if you open your map and you can see where somebody can look of your children, if there is the possibilities to bring more children, or if they can have lunch there? Can the person help with homework and does have/she also have good references from other mothers or dads?

So I would give the following data:

• How much children can I bring?
• Children in which age are allowed?
• How long can I bring them?
• Are there other children jet?
• Can my children have lunch?
• Any reputations from other adults?
• Can my children have help with the homework?
• Are there pets?

So when you open the map you can see where a free place is and call the offerer.

For this you have to collect a lot of information about who will accept the responsibility of a child. You must find them. I think churches are a good point to start. There are a lot of people who know a lot of people of your city. Or try it in kinder gardens. Perhaps some mothers will look after your child when you cannot be home at the time kinder garden ends? You must offer an internet page where people can introduce themselves and where they can get in contact which each other and talk about their experiences.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
