Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

People react in a variety of ways, depending on the type of the event, the extent of the catastrophe and if it is something that is ongoing, or what have you.

This particular article was important to me because it outlined the five ways people react and the reasons why they do react in the manner that they do.

It firsts go into how people react and how they overeact. It is the period of adjustment that happens in this phase. They know what the situation is, they pause, a****s the situation and react accordingly. They overreact when reality has set in, they realize what has happened and can't wait to receive instructions -- they panic -- the initial panic individuals feel in an emergency or crisis situation. They will not remain calm so as to make sense of the situation until after sommeone has repeatedly informed them of what the first set of instructions are to be -- for the good of everyone concerned in the crisis.

The authors state that if peoploe overreact, it is better to do so in the beginning, rather than at the end.

Another stage individuals go through they described is denial. They replace denial with panic; denial will not allow them to feel the full affect of a real panic situation. The authors claim that it is needed to seduce individuals out of this stage into reality, for their good.

The last portion describes the 5 stages of reaction to a disaster - this is really interesting.

1.Self-preservation. The first stage is fear and initial anxiety. This is common and normal. People are afraid and will do what is necessary to save themselves.

2.Group-preservation. There is a sense that people step out and want to help one another.

3.Blame-setting. This is as it is -- individuals will look to who caused the situation. Some will step up and make up a scenario.

4.Justice Seeking - You've caused the blame on someone and now it is here where you want them to be punished for what they may have caused.

5.Renormalizing - At some point, most have calmed down, an a****sment has been made and individuals and groups will adapt to the threat.

We do not know how we will react in anyh particular event until it occurs. The best thing to do is to remain as calm as possible, await instructions, assist where needed, focus on what we can do now and not on what happened and go forward and adjust, accordingly.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
