Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

I am trying to make a Venus of Willendorf type symbol the original (below) is 20 to 30 thousand years old. It is not clear what it symbolised when it was made. I take it as a symbol of a matrilinear orientation, she is a guardian of the home and the fire.

It is a symbol that expresses the value of a society which provides a stable environment for families to flourish. This type of society is one in which knowledge is preserved and transmitted to future generations and where there is fertility and abundance.

Venus of Willendorf 20000 to 30000 BC

It is distressing to see the cost of war/conflict in terms of dollars. The real cost comes in loss of loved ones, loss of homes and livelihoods, loss of understanding, loss of compassion, loss of joy.

The mother symbol represents peace, security, fertility, and continuity.

Great, PJE! Will you post us a picture when it's done?

Thank you Sarah, I am just adding an album which shows the finished symbol and the process.

Wow! I just looked at your photos, and she's beautiful! You're very talented I see! Carving is not an easy thing to do. :-)

What kind of stone did you use?

Looks terrific! Really interesting to see how you turn a piece of ordinary stone into beautiful art.

I wish we could inspire all the other Agents to find ways to use their hands to create meaningful things. It's such a rewarding experience, even if its something as simple as a bottle or jar filled with ideas, or seeds, or memories...
