A crash course in changing the world.
It is May, 6th 2020. It is my birthday dinner! I prepared a three-course menu and invited some friends to my home. The first course is Basco, an indonesian soup with vegetables and glass noodles, but without meat. Meat consumption has been restricted by the European Union, in the way that every person in a first world country is allowed to consume meat only one time per week. Therefore we will have meat for the second course.
Because I have always loved italian food we are having an italian main course. The main course is Saltimbocca alla Romana, which is cow meat with ham and potatoes. Because the meat consumption amount is also restricted, every guest gets its personal weekly meat amount that has been registered at the central meat consumption register. Because world population has been growing enormously during the past 15 years, certain dishes containing meat or fish are restricted within their consumption. Especially fish has become very expensive because at the moment most oceans are quite emptiy and fishing is restricted until the year 2030. fishes are mostly raised artificially on special farms.
For desert we are having a soy-milk vanilla pudding with strawberry sauce which tastes quite delicious and has been made by me. Because in Europe in the meantime it has become possible to grow soy plants . Soy has become one of the main foods for all persons in the world. Due to rising world population and the lack of other food caused by shrinking areas of cultivable land, many foods have been replaced by soy.
