The Buchu Herb - Priceless Indigenous Knowledge
For centuries, South Africa has been rich in indigenous knowledge. Stretching back as far as the times of the Khoi, we have been well endowed with traditional findings. The Buchu Herb is one such gem.
The Buchu Herb (formally known as Barosma Betulina) has therapeutic uses. This herb is part of our cultural heritage from the San and Khoi people, some of our first ever ancestors. The power of this plant has been evident "throughout the ages". The plant is still used today by herbal doctors, who prefer to use alternative medicine.

+1LI. Herbal alternatives to medication - we have MANY of these in Kenya as well. And although no "scientific"proof exists for the effectiveness of many of these herbal remedies, many people continue to use them.

Interesting. Strangely, it often doesn't matter how effective or not the herbal medicines are, but that people believe that they work. Somehow when people believe that they're being cured, it works. I'm not all too sure what exactly this is called but I heard about this very phenomena just a few days ago.

The placebo effect has been getting stronger in the Americas, too! Recently it out-performed Xanax in a study. Belief is almost as good as laughter!
