Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Violence against women in Kenya, a real solution.

Educating women about their rights is all well and good, but in certain areas of the world, it is not nearly enough, if not useless.

Women in the area are constantly raped and abused, and having workshops about their rights will not stop a man from raping and abusing them further, creating only a temporary and ultimately futile empowerment. These women do need the education, sure, but the help they desperately require is of a more tangible kind. Additionally, I am normally weary of those charities that only attempt to "educate" and buy "notebooks" for their target audience in need because they usually keep more donation money than they actually spend, and most of the donations to to their "trainers".

This is why I picked Breaking the Cycle of Gender Violence. Here is a charity that is trying to create real, tangible change, not only by providing abused women support and counsel, but also picking up medical bills and attempting to carry on legal procedures to get these women the justice they deserve.

At this point, I do not have the resources to donate to them, but I will surely be promoting their cause and pointing people to where they can support it.

I like your focus on real, tangible change, especially for those on the margins who may be the most vulnerable.

I like what this charity is doing. I would like to add a though to it though: women becoming more empowered through education and employment opportunities, sometimes causes frustration in men, which comes out in the form of violence. Ofcourse that does not mean that we dont want women to be empowered. But it is a very pertinent problem especially in socially repressed societies and in times with inadequate opportunities. Now it seems to me that to break the cycle of violence, its not enough to empower women, we need to educate and counsell the men too. Violence is a mental disease. This charity will make a huge difference because it is treating 'attitudes'- it should start with women, but in the long term i would like to see them create a new gender balance.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
