On Water Day, 2020, we would turn all of the faucets and drinking fountains in the United States off. This way, families living in the first world who are used to having water instantly accessible will experience what it's like to not have any water. Also, no bottled water or other beverages can be sold. (People with special medical needs and hospital patients could be excused from this.)
There WILL be water available to regular citizens--but it will be located 4 miles away from their homes. Families must use any buckets they have to carry water back, if they need it. This will help everyone gain a perspective on what it's like for families living in countries that have severe water shortages (such as many countries in Africa).
