Health Outcome Analyst

Ideally, by 2020, I'll be living wherever I feel like and performing health care program evaluations and outcome analysis via the Internet. It is vital to know what treatments and other outcome determinants are most efficient so that we can develop sustainable health systems. I would like to apply my skills to such meaningful work.

Learn3 - Patsari stoves

For this post I'm sharing the project of Victor Berrueta, my uncle. He's been working with indigenous groups all over Mexico for as long as I remember. He did his master helping Mayan indigenous groups in Chiapas to have a solar drier for coffee which improved their food production.

Now, he's still working in the project he did his PhD on: Patsari Stoves.

The problem: Many indigenous groups still cook using a fire inside their houses. The way they do it wastes a lot of wood… Continue

Present Day: March 10, 2020 6:30PM

I am at the balcony of my house with Karen (my 2 year old daughter - she is adorable). I am a "family guy now", I have a wife, 2 year old beautiful daughter and my follower sister Joan. The apartment is on the country side - from my balcony is a clear view of Lake Victoria. The sunset looks beautiful. The reflection of the sun on the water. :) God I love nature. Reminds me how important it is to preserve this beauty for the… Continue

Life-saving sustainability

While trolling about for the LEARN3 objective, I came across this site, and wanted to share it (even if it doesn't fit any particular mission so far): http://www.greenmarketing.tv/embrace-incubator (official website: http://embraceglobal.org/)

How's this for a perfect marriage of high-tech and low. A high-tech, scientific solution for a low-tech problem, and all it takes it hot water --… Continue

Act 1

I am sitting on the fence about who to follow. At this point I will be following this effort.

http://medic.frontlinesms.com/product-tour/

I will following them by bookmarking them and following their blog. I don't facebook and I haven't dived into the Twitter world either. I find the wh*** concept of being able to push information out and even do testing over sms absolutely fascinating.

Having access to… Continue

Act1-Mission 1

I decided to follow Docs for Tots. http://www.docsfortots.org/ ;
As an example of what I believe is important for effective change are these doctors who have pooled their wisdom with complete nonpartisan advocacy. The strength from this group comes from their ability to help others make informed choices about children's health for their communities.

MISSION-Food Security in my community,You are invited!

Here in North Carolina, USA our available food is abundent, however it may be chosen, stored and prepared in ways that may not provide the potential energy and health benefits expected.

The lack of education in the field of Nutrition has become a large part of our chronic disease increase. We used to teach our high school students in many commuities across America how to select, transport, store and prepare foods to nourish themselves. This essential education has been pushed…

Litering could be good

I am here to help people in their time of need. If I can get my friends to help than maybe you could help too. If you wnt to start a good thing try doing what I did. To create more plants all you have to do is do some healthy "litering.' By litering I don't mean throwing your trash on the floor. I mean recycle with the earth. By throwing your discarded fruits on the soil they decay and eventually turns into nurishment for the earth. Take your banana, orange or any other fruit and don't waste…

Learn2: Starving from Abundance

I have been fortunate to live in a very socially aware community that has the benefits and amenities one can find in a big city, but with a smaller population (approx 40,000). The amount of programs and food shelters in respect to the need is thankfully not as daunting as larger metropolitan areas. That although our community seems to have done well with getting food into peoples' bellies a large issue looms on the horizon. GOOD FOOD, healthy food, is still way too expensive.

We have… Continue

NEWSKILL: Living with Diabetes

Diabetes runs in my family and I recently put up some web pages on my work's site that a faculty member put together about living with diabetes.

Basic understanding of diabetes treatment is three-fold.

  1. Diet
  2. Exercise
  3. Medicine
Diabetes is a disease that is caused by the lack of, or a bodies improper use of insulin. Insulin is natural hormone in the body which basically takes the sugar from our food and turns it into energy for our body.… Continue

Deb Levine

"Right people, right message, right channel"

Deb has it "right on!" Her organization, that provides confidential sexual health information, is a model for informing teens and others about an important issue. As she points out, many people are unaware of sexually transmitted diseases and other health conditions.

Deb has found a novel way to provide information in a manner that promotes health and confidentiality.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
