By creating an application, “IEMERGENCY,” it is my conviction that the next pandemic flu can be avoided. “IEMERGENCY” will consist of a panel of voluntary doctors, local CVS retailers, consumers (with individual accounts) and select media outlets (although the media outlets will be more limited in coverage). To combat this next pandemic, IEMERGENCY will release an alert of the flu pandemic, reminding users to seek out the closest CVS offering flu shots. The app will allow users to sign up…

It is my conviction that the first secret to crisis communication, “Coming to terms with Uncertainty,” is most important for creating an empathetic front for dissemination of critical information. From a psychological standpoint, I feel that this very premise highlights the principle that, “fear of the unknown brings people anxiety,” articulating how the first, critical component of communication involves “understanding conflicting and uncertain information.”: Overall, the hallmark of this…

At the age of 100, it is my conviction that fishing with a standard rod-and-reel will be a sort of “indigenous knowledge.” I will want to share with my future family how one is capable of catching a fish with nothing more than a rod and reel is a possible and fun way to interact with one’s environment. I feel that this message is not only urgent for my family, but moreover, urgent for the world at large, as the ability to fish would allow millions to feed themselves, relieving the dependency…

“Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) for Capacity Building in Southern Africa”

Funded by the “World Wildlife Fund,” this project serves as the touchstone for which National organizations can empower local, African fisheries to understand the economic advantages of conservation and capacity building. In effect, this project commends then indigenous knowledge of native African fisherman, encouraging them to take an active stance in protecting their cash-crop via the…

The city of Gainesville is implementing major changes with the set goal of changing the future of energy; however, a number of current residents have concerns.

Gainesville’s “biomass plant,” a product of the “Gainesville Renewable Energy Center,” was initiated in 2011 following receipt of government funding in excess of $450 million. GRU claimed that the biomass plant would cut down on energy cost (in comparison to other alternative sources, such as coal) and result in decreases to…

Given projected population growth and urban migration increases, it does seem reasonable to assume that health outbreaks, such as epidemics, will also increase as a result of increases to population density. In the instance of an epidemic originating in particular community, Ushahidi could prove pivotal in mitigating the number and relative severity of those infected.

Similar to an “Amber Alert” system, Ushahidi could inform those of a particular region of the surfacing threat of an…

“Sports to empower women and girls in Rwanda”

It is 2020, and as a direct result of the “Sports to empower women and girls in Rwanda” project, girls are now playing sports across the land. Granting the chance for women to compete, this program has provided women with higher education opportunities and, in doing so, a more…

“Violence against women in UK”

On April 16, 2014, UN Special Reporter on violence against women, Rashida Manjoo, spoke out against the lackluster manner in which the United Kingdom government punishes (and counters) violence against women. Manjoo noted that, “there have been many positive developments, including a 2010 strategy to address…

Using my roommate as a go-between, I recently tried my hand at the utilizing the bitcoin currency. As I recently lost my DVD copy of Happy Gilmore (which I had previously purchased at Walmart), I used my friends bitcoin currency to purchase new copy of Happy Gilmore for .011 BTC from the website, “bitcoinin.com.” I was pleasantly surprised with the simplicity and user-friendliness of the transaction.

The relative ease for which bitcoins can be used to purchase consumer goods in an…

In the United States, it is my utmost conviction that the most profound change toward how individuals use their money is largely engrained with the furthering of economic education programs. I believe that a more enhanced stressing of economic teachings would prove essential and beneficial for training our nation’s citizens to be more fiscally responsible. One such avenue for enhanced teachings would be to mandate that all high school seniors complete a mandatory “financial planning game” in…

Happy World Water Day 2020! For the day’s planned event, I propose the following challenge: As water is essential to all life on earth, including human’s, then, as means of raising awareness, conduct an hour of mute from the time period of 5 to 6 PM, refusing to speak to any other humans during this time period. As means of not appearing to be a “jerk,” affix a sign on the front of your shirt to be worn during this period which states the following, “I will not talk to anyone for the time…

It is my utmost conviction that, in relation to the global water crisis and its effects in Africa, relative functionality ought to outweigh “creativity.” As such, I found “Water.org’s” project, “Water for Girmawit Alema,” to be awe-inspiring in terms of pragmatic usage capabilities. By drilling a boreh***, the project provided people in the village with clean and safe water, reducing…

An unlikely “change agent” to the power shift initiative, Tampa Electric Company’s “Green Fleet” stands out as a creative and more sustainable mechanism for daily transportation. Their BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) models have no internal combustion engine and are instead dependent on charging by plugging in to an electric power source. More astounding, TECHO’s BEV’s are capable of a range of 40 miles (more than the average person drives) and equipped with an on-board generator which…

It is March 20, 2020. I am at my house with my youngest kids, enjoying a lovely dinner prepared by both my wife and I which consists of a new hybrid meat stew. The essential component of the stew consists of a hybrid meat derived from the Bovid hybrid, a genetically modified organism which produces a meat content of higher protein to fat ratios than any other meat previously invented. We purchased the meat from a local Publix supermarket. The dish tastes a lot like a beef stew; however, our…

Within my local community of Florida (USA), the greatest challenge to food security ought to be understood as running concurrent with both population growth and increasing economic disparity.

In accordance with the U.S. Bureau for Labor Statistics 2012 report, the state of Florida’s underemployment rate was 17 percent, making Florida the 6th most underplayed state of the US. In effect, this means that, given the work provided, 17 percent of the state makes below the annual income for…

"Provide skills, not just finished technologies. The current revolution in design for developing countries is the notion of co-creation, of teaching the skills necessary to create the solution, rather than simply providing the solution. By involving the community throughout the design process, you can help equip people to innovate and contribute to the evolution of the product. Furthermore, they acquire the skills needed to create solutions to a much wider variety of problems. They are…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
