Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

I decided to present the EVOKE manifesto of 2020 in the form of four Haiku poems.

A wise man said -
"Be the change you want to see."
Do this together.

All over our world -
visionaries and doers,
come to act the change

Know what's right -
do that which is good and
therefore be happy

Invite mystery -
entice humanity's will
to make a stand

For all you Haiku nerds out there I have to add that my poems are far from technical perfection. Depending on your definition of "mora" I might be accused of having the wrong number. I lack the traditional "kigo" and my "kireji" leave much to wish for.

But, but, but, you're the one who said:

Know what's right -
do that which is good and
therefore be happy

So someone, somewhere has to decide whether an attempt is serious or not so that we know that we are doing what is good... I'm trying to find out what you think it actually means to do good, so that we can aim for doing more of it. :-) So we need some practical way to judge how effective we're being. I might think that my attempt at understanding complexity is serious, but how can I be sure?

i got perfectly well what you meant
just leave it now
some people only want to talk
just let them...

I don't necessarily think we do. But you said "Know what's right", and I'm trying to understand what you mean by that, in a very real way, rather than the superficial way that most people talk about things. :-)

And Koshy, I don't want to talk, I want to understand. :-)

I really think you're confusing superficial and theoretical. My way of reasoning is anything but superficial, but I can understand if it is seen as slightly too theoretical.

Superficial and theoretical are entirely different things. You can have a superficial theory and a non-superficial theory. I do believe you have a pretty deep theory here, I'm just not getting what I need to experience what you experience when you say "Know what's right" and "do that which is good". Which is why I'm asking for more specifics, what concrete things happen when something is right and/or good? What actual changes occur. You started to get close with your description of having more people participate in something, and I'm looking for more clarity about the other element that you mentioned of an "honest (or serious) attempt at understanding complexity". I agree that this sounds good on the surface, but I'm not convinced that it is all that important on the deeper level of what that actually is something that we should necessarily aim for. Perhaps an honest attempt at understanding simplicity is what's needed. Or even a jokingly, un-serious attempt at understanding either complexity or simplicity. :-)

Or even..

A totally fantastical success at being completely oblivious to everything! :-)

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
