Next Chapter For Evoke - PASSING THE TORCH

EPISODE 1
MEETING ROOM
I reject your reality and substitute my own - Adam Savage, Mythbusters

PAGE 1

PANEL A

Evoke agents are lounging around a casual meeting space.

EMBER 1
What a crazy year. I can't believe we pulled all those stunts off.

ALCHEMY 2
Well, not everything went as planned...

EMBER 3
Expression: Wry grin.
You know, they say that if you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans.

PANEL B

Same room, different angle showing EUREKA and QUINN. QUINN is looking at a laptop with several windows of financial data up.

EUREKA 1
The point is, we made it work for us in the end. That's what's important.

QUINN 2
Well, that, and the fact that we made it pay. With the profits we earned, we'll be able to fund plenty of future evokes.

PANEL C

Close up of ALCHEMY, with a smirk

ALCHEMY
Better yet, we've proven to the world that not only can you create change, but you can make it sustainable and profitable. The smell of a profit margin will get people moving in the right direction even if nothing else will.

OFF-PANEL
An alert blares out: There's been a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in southern Chile. We've suffered severe damage to local infrastructures up and down the coast and communications are devastated. Alchemy, we need your help!

PAGE 2

PANEL A
Bird's eye view of the meeting room

ALCHEMY 1
Looks like it's time to get back to work.

EMBER
And I was just about to get comfortable, too.

PANEL B
Focus on EUREKA, smiling

EUREKA
Relax, sister. It's covered.

PAGE 3

PANEL A
Full shot of EUREKA typing into a laptop computer, with EMBER looking
over her shoulder.

TEXT BOX
Calling all EVOKE agents. Chile needs your help - it's time to get into
action! Text EVOKEChile to get your instructions and resource kit.

PANEL B
Closeup of EMBER's face, showing surprise.

EMBER
Seriously? You're just going to leave it in their hands?

PANEL C
Showing EUREKA stretching out and reaching for a cookie on a nearby table.

EUREKA
That was the wh*** point of the exercise, wasn't it?

PANEL D
Split panel: 1. Close up of EMBER, thoughtful expression. 2. Same shot, expression changing to a big smile.

PAGE 4

PANEL A
Four-way split of all of the Agents and Alchemy hard at work fielding incoming data, messages and calls.

ALCHEMY 1
Facing wall screens with maps, talking into headset: Yes, that's correct. Proceed to these coordinates...

EUREKA 2
On phone: Just bring the tools you have.

EMBER 3
Typing into IM screen: Remember Laurel Canyon...Exactly! You've got it.

QUINN 4
Looking into his computer screen, talking into headset: Whatever you've got in stock, mobilize it now.

PANEL B
Urban area centering on an open plaza. Buildings in the background are destroyed by earthquake, lots of debris, fallen buildings, you can see a few fires in the far background. There are people helping each other search the ruins or supporting each other as they climb over rubble. From all around the plaza, a streaming flash-mob of people are converging on a table in the center of the plaza. Several of the people are looking at their cellphones, as if following a map or directions. Two people stand at the table with smartphones and clipboards, checking people in.

TEXT BOX 1
Chile, ground zero, EVOKE Organizational Zone 3.

MESSAGE BOX
You've completed your training missions. You've shared your stories and ideas. Are you ready for the call?

Hi, I love this story, very well done Agent!

Thanks! I've never done anything remotely like this, so I was a bit cautious to try. But I knew what I wanted to say, so the rest was just learning the format.

I think formnow on it will be like this, howmany are we? about 146 in many countries. We should start the world changing task, and it is easy, the recipe is: start with oneself, then at home....the rest is "stich and sing" ;-)

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
