ACT[4] Water Security

I located the site for the North American 'Water for People', and joined. I sent out ecards to family and friends reminding them of my father's work as a civil engineer as he monitored waste water treatment plants in Northern California's rural communities and my role as a child as I accompanied him on some of these visits. It had a great impact upon me at the time so when the science fair projects were due, my own was a drawing of the complete…

LEARN[4] - Water Security

It is wonderful to be able to address issues related to access by all peoples to clean drinking water. During my childhood, I would go with my father to each of the waste water treatment plants in his district. These large water purification sites were used to analyze water, then the right amount of treatments are added, filteration takes place to remove large particulates, then aeriation and exposure to light were used to reuse water that came from sewers that brought back the community…

IMAGINE [3] POWER SHIFT-Solar Cookers and Money in the Bank

It is the Fourth of July-Independence Day, the year 2020, on the beach of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, where our family comes from all parts of the US and the World to celebrate our Country's Freedom and its Democracy. It used to be in my own day, that we would all go to a beach, park, or other open public space to BarBQue aka BBQ. We would cook steak, corn-on-the-cob and other vegetables wrapped in foil. The fuel of the times was simple, manufactored coals that had been moistened with…

LEARN [3] Power Shift-Monitizing Carbon offsets

I discovered David Palella and is wonderful solar powered cook stoves when I began to look at ways to improve the quality of health in Nigeria. I am particularly interested in nutrition and its impact on health and well being, so his use solar power to cook when that would otherwise not have been possible was a delight to find. Even more so because he developed a method to pay for the cost of the cooking…

Thanks Laura! Yes, let's be in touch about projects we can come up with. I have contacted some organizations and hope to hear back from them. Now I just have to remember to be patient. Great pictures, btw! Have a lovely weekend. :)

Hi Lauro, thanks for welcoming and for your words. I'm won't loose my hopes.
Me too, I'm trying to always deliver the best resources I can find and, definitely, I'm becoming more and more commited to EVOKE's global mission, than to the points' thing. More and more, I'm getting in the NOTAGAME philosophy.
Cheers

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ***tances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
