A crash course in changing the world.
In 2020 I hope I will be employed at a sustainable working company. My aim is to travel arround the world to collect knowledge about different cultures and attitudes. Together with my company I will be able to solve any problems from all over the world.I hope to be helpful in creating and innovating new ideas and products. I hope to live in a good working atmosphere to build up new relationships and to find new friends. Anyway I hope to keep in contact with my old friends in 2020, too.…

Actually I’m not quite sure, were I’m going to be in the year 2020. If I had to make a wish, I would like to impact the world with my work in new technologies. Therefore, it would be great if I could develop some innovative method which is helpful to people and makes their lives easier and more worth living. Especially older people can profit from new innovations. For example, they just developed some shoes that include a location-tracking-system for people suffering from Alzheimer’s…

Aung San Suu Kyi was born in June 1945 in Burma. She is the only daughter of the revolutionist Aung Sang who fought for Burma's independence from the British Empire in 1947. Unfortunately, rivals assassinated Aung Sang in the very same year. Suu Kyi eventually moved to different countries to go to collage and university. In 1988 Suu Kyi returned to Burma and started leading the pro-democracy movement which was the reason she was placed under house arrest in 1989. Despite of the given arrest…

... i will have a safe job at a big company. That is fun because i will have enough money to provide for my family. Hopefully enough to help my friends and the people around me. Probably i will still live in a apartment in a big city. But there is already a plan to build a own house. Let's hope the situation allows to move to a natural region. At the seaside would be nice. As mentioned previously, i will have a family. There will be my wife and...puuhh...difficult to see all this stuff. I…

If you want to make a change in the world, it is not enough to just sit at home and think about what would help the world. Your ideas may be great ones but if you don’t take action they probably won’t impact other people the way you want them to. Therefore, you actually have to act to create a better world and within this action you have to go to where the deficiencies are. This is the best way to be most successful with your visions as you can see the real problems and respond to upcoming…

My favourite secret is 7. Provide skills, not just finished technologies. by Amy Smith.
Although there are other interesting secrets of social innovation, I think this one is the most important one. As Amy Smith is saying, the co-creation of solutions helps the community to think and act more innovatively in the future. Sharing knowledge and skills with less developped countries seems to be the most promising long term strategy. The community is able to adjust solutions to their…

My favourite secret of social innovation is "Provide skills, not just finished technologies. The current revolution in design for developing countries is the notion of co-creation, of teaching the skills necessary to create the solution, rather than simply providing the solution. By involving the community throughout the design process, you can help equip people to innovate and contribute to the evolution of the product. Furthermore, they acquire the skills needed to create solutions to a…

In 2020, I hope I can work on something which is a kind of “meaningful”. I hope that I won’t just sell ads in the future, like the majority of people who work at the media industry. I want to do something “good” like working for a company which sells or produces products which I can really promote with a good conscience.

THE BEST IS TO THINK LIKE A KID AND THE WORSE IS THE RULE THAT THE AIDEA HAS TO HELP AT LEAST 1 MILLION PEOPLE, THIS IS A SET BACK FOR MANY PEOPLE, SPECIALLY YOUNG PEOPLE THAT THINK THAT ONE SINGLE ACTION DOESN´T COUNT, IT DOES AND TELLING THEM THAT THEY HAVE TO THINK THAT BIG, STOPS THEM FROM DOING ANYTHING.

The story about the young boy on afrigadget.com is very inspiring and impressive. Without books or other technical information, the 11 year old richard, invented a automated lighting system to protect his familys cows against lions. He used a car battery charged with a solar panel and broken flashlights to imitate people walking around, which keeps…

Ten years from now it'll be April 2022.
I'll be living in a small house in southern France, about five kilometers away from the coast. Somewhere in the Alpes Maritimes. My electric car is fully loaded and I'm ready to go to Cannes where my workspace is. Arriving there, I'll update with my contacts worldwide. My family in Germany, my friends and business contacts in Senegal, Iran, USA, China. Besides of sharing news, I'm a freelancer on objectives like promoting greener energy in…

I choose Jason Aramburu as a hero, because he developed low technologies to fight climate change. I think climate change is one of the biggest issues in 21th century and it will be our responsibility to fight against global warming and greenhouse gases to save the future world. Innovators like Jason show to people that there are always solutions an alternatives to build up a "greener" planet. We have to keep in mind to act sustainable and every technological innovation should refer to…

After searching the given pages, I decided to shadow the makers of "dirtpower", because I believe, that the idea has the potential to change our thinking about energy in general.
To put the idea in a nutshell:
Africa doesn't actually have a problem with generating enough energy. The problem is just, that it can't be supplied everywhere. So cellphone owners in small villages can use the device created by the dirtpower"-crew.
The device will be linked to dirt and suck the…

My favourite secret is:
What you have matters more than what you lack.
No matter where you live and no matter which value your property has, you have to appreciate the things which belong to you.
Do not always strive for the better! When you e.g. own a bicycle and you can not affort a car, be happy anyway! A bike can be a loyal partner until you can affort something else.
What you own makes you creative! When you are engaged in cycling you…

It's Thanksgiving, so I'm visiting my parents in Hong Kong. The food looks delicious. As usual, we are having a traditional Thanksgiving meal, including New Territories Turkey, pink corn, and avocado pie. The turkey was raised in New Territories (an area in Hong Kong), so it's fresh and healthy. The corn tastes sweeter than ever, which isn't surprising as the new genetic DNA (used to make corn sustain growing heat), adds natural sugar as well. The avocado pie is perfect, and a great…

First of all, i would like to say that it is very hard to say which "secret" is my "favourite". I think all of them are nessecary to create solutions to solve social problems. I think the first step is to really “UNDERSTAND” and analyse the central problems of afrika, by observing the environment, infrastructure, culture and lives of people. But first one should analyse why development aid didn’t work so far. I Think the problems is, that we should not threaten Africa like a little naïve and…

My favorite secret is: What you have matters more than what you lack!
Focus on available means! Do not limit yourself by considering things you do not have. Use what is at your disposal and make the best of it. Our lives are stuffed with means to create innovations!
