A crash course in changing the world.
This experience, even though I'm just starting, is really eye-opening. I think there was a passion I had throughout high school and college to make a difference in the world, that unfortunately has faded over time as I've become more focused on my life and day-to-day living.
There are people out there doing amazing things to dramatically improve the lives of others, so I hope by 2020 I feel successful in having done that on a regular basis. I will be teaching my children through…

I live in Germany and no one here would really suffer starvation. We cultivate enough foodstuffs and our grocery stores are always full. Also, it sometimes occurs that we live in abundance and still throw away edible foodstuffs. This is of course incomprehensible to other countries. But even here, in Germany it is possible that especially children from poorer families have to go hungry because the little money to spend more on luxury goods. (Cigarettes and unhealthy foodstuffs) The children…

I live in a small village near Helmstedt, Germany and happily there aren´t huge food security problems in my region, but of course there are some in Germany.
As I read a few days ago, there are nearly 3.000.000 children in Germany suffering famine and/or poverty, I was shocked as I read the article, because I´ve never thought of such a huge number of starving children in Germany, so during this task I checked some projects or organizations which already help fighting against hunger…

Regarding the food security topic, I informed myself about agricultural issues in Germany. One in my opinion interesting topic are milk prices in germany. already, milk is not an expensive good, and it is to be questioned if the current prices for one liter of milk are fair (from 45 to 85 cents/liter). Furthermore, in 2015 Germany will leave the so-called "milk quota regulation" of the european union. until now, every european country was allowed to produce a certain amount of milk to avoid…
ContinueI live in Germany obviously known as one of the richest countrys in the world and i believe one of main threats for global food security is the food consumption behaviour of industrial countrys.
We produce and consum way more food then we need for a healthy nutrition.
Especially meat is overconsumed in our country.
Meat production requires far more food for the animals then it creates.
I like meat a lot by myself but we have to restrain our selfs quite a bit to make a…

1.Innovation (often) comes from constraint (If you’ve got very few resources, you’re forced to be very creative in using and reusing them.)
I think this one is the most important, because it is the one people all over the world have to deal with and struggle dealing with this problem.

In ten years I cook a wonderful meal for my family. My parents are there, my grandparents came and my in-laws. And my sister and her family and my wonderful children. The idea of helping a neighbor with a garden is very good for the summertime. However, it does not solve the problem that even in winter there are sufficient food. The establishment of an organization that collects food and distributed three times a day to the needy from the neighborhood is worth for the winter time. Especially at Christmas, the people are warm and loving to other people. Therefore, I think that in the period in which no fruits or vegetables in the garden grows, people will…

I will own my own business. Hopefully i will still be involved with non for profits and organizations that focus on community service. When I receive that call in 10 years i will hopefully have enough knowledge and resources to be able to go full force into Tokyo and help solve the hunger and famine problem.

I agree with Paul Polak’s approach in his post titled Nextbillion. It is important to take new approaches to solving problems when old approaches are not efficient or are not working anymore. I think it’s important to go to where the problem is so that you can see it first hand and try and fix it and help change the world.

Yesterday I visited a very interesting discussion about the topic: sustainability of ecological agriculture. It took place at the 'Haus der Wissenschaft' in Brunswick. The audience was as well as the experts involved in this specific 'fishbowl' debate. Conventional farm holdings and organic farming considered the pros and cons of both agricultural use.
One topic captured my attention in a special way: reinforcement of regional factors. It's seems to be logical but we have to attach…
