PANIC PANDEMIC!

LEARN MORE!Crisis Communication

“There are a lot of special things about outbreaks, but most important is that they're unfolding events. Nobody really knows where they're going and, especially in the beginning, there's high outrage and high concern in the absence of knowing what the hazard is”

ELDERLY WISDOM!

Bearers Of Wisdom

The Elderly

In tribal cultures, the elderly play an important role. They are the keepers of the tribe's memories and the holders of wisdom. As such, the elderly are honored and respected members of tribes. In many modern cultures, however, this is often not the case. Many elderly people say that they feel ignored, left out, and disrespected. This is a sad commentary on modernization, but it doesn't have to be this way. We can change this situation by taking the time… Continue

OJAI NEEDS A RESILIANCE PLAN!

By 2020, Ojai will have a stable resilience plan. There are now organic farms where country clubs, parks, or housing development used to be. The food from these farms is sold at the four farmers' markets that have been started around Ojai. Two hospitals have been set up on either end of town making them easily accessible to everyone. There is also three new emergency housing sites that can provide any displaced families shelter until they can safely move back into their homes.…

HERE IS THE PLAN!

Why Transition?

We are living in an age of unprecedented change, with a number of crises converging. Climate change, global economic instability, overpopulation, erosion of community, declining biodiversity, and resource wars, have all stemmed from the availability of cheap, non-renewable fossil fuels. Global oil, gas…

Here for more info! For decades, California has epitomized America's economic strengths: technological excellence, artistic creativity, agricultural fecundity and an intrepid entrepreneurial spirit. Yet lately California has projected a grimmer vision of a politically divided, economically stagnant state. Last week its legislature cut a deal to close its $42 billion budget deficit, but its larger problems… Continue

Two communications specialists—one from WHO, another from the CDC—talk frankly about the challenges they face; and what they want journalists to know about how they operate during an outbreak. Also, we learn how people might react in various stages of a pandemic and why authorities hope that the new concept of “psychological first aid” will help manage panic in a more severe pandemic

the first website is my favorite it brings up thigs i would have never thought of.

empowering a woman

For the act portion of my mission, I chose to empower my younger sister by helping with her math homework that she just couldn’t seem to understand. After I broke down each problem to her she was no longer oppressed by the problem but instead empowered.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
