Evokation

Being high school students, even with such an amount of money, we realize that our powers and resources are limited. We have time and ability constraints. So it took us quite a while to come up with something big enough to make a difference but definitely probable.…

evokation - a little collaborative composition

So, my evokation is quite small...It is not so grand as many, but might be as inspiring or life-changing.

I hope that it might offer many of us a chance to create a little individual something that could be part of a larger composition. So, here goes.

Lugdwig von Beethovan composed one of the most lovely, well-known and enduring compositions from 5 notes. Ode To Joy, from his 9th Symphony, can be played on an instrument as simple and… Continue

Online Solutions Architecture

Bill McKibben and 350.org have called for an international work day to stop climate change on October 10, 2010. I have proposed to him that there should 350.org should provide an online solutions architecture in order to promote and support those practical demonstrations of climate solutions on October 10 and to make sure they continue after that day.

350.org has already…

lets evoke flashmobs in gameworlds

Though our urgentevoke network is more than 19000 strong we are spread out thinly in our realworld. To gain further momentum it might be an idea to organize flashmobs in gameworlds like World of Warcraft or Covert Ops. It looks like a waste of energy to invest time in those gameworlds we are trying to turn around but since it is so fundamental in Jane McGonigal's project and the issue is in this game only indirectly adressed through the…

Act 8, Indigenous Knowledge

I've left this mission till almost last, because traditionally I'm not much of a maker. A doer, yes, but my carpentry, pottery, woodsmithing, and metalworking skills are all sub-par. The best thing I can do is build a computer from component parts, or grow plants.

Building a computer didn't seem like an appropriate way of representing indigenous technology, but maybe growing a plant would. Obviously a plant itself isn't durable, but a pot sure is!

So I took one of our nicer… Continue

UPDATE 20100515:

This was a draft I was working on to prepare for an Evokation, I'm tagging it with Learn7 to keep it for next year and will talk to my local Emergency Response team about the idea and how best to refresh everyone's memory about what they're to do and where to go in an emergency here.…

Evokation update 3: My heart the wind collaboration

Was going on, I say, I hear you saying, without saying, was going on. Well I will tell you, I will tell you, in hyper post modern speak, my heart you want to know.

My Evokation: China really needs this innovation .... (If you care about China, look at here)

I have been focusing my eyes on ARG for nearly one year and get totally addicted to study and play it. When I came back to China last May, I was thinking about to run a serious ARG in my home country by myself. Here is my big idea.…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Foods are vacc** sealded for easy…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
