Act2: A beginning

So, this is not a complete mission yet for me, but I am working on it. Damian and I are making a mobile garden. We have seeds and soil and a long pot (sort of like a giant flowerbox), we are researching when to plant and what and when the last frost date is for the area (mid-may) and enjoying the awesome amount of knowledge available on EVOKE.

This mission has been interesting. I miss my mother's garden, and I love naming… Continue

Creativity and Children

I would like to introduce you all to Axe Cop:

http://www.axecop.com/

Axe Cop is a comic, written and illustrated by brothers. The writer just turned six years old, and his twenty-nine year old brother does the illustrations.

In Learn 1 a lot of people talked about the importance of maintaining an almost child-like openness to creativity. And I think that for those of us that do not have to deal with kids on a daily basis it is… Continue

Help RoseLeaf Start: Microlending and Mentorship for Women

A friend of mine is working to start a network to support women entrepreneurs with micro-lending and mentorship programs. She needs people to take a look at her wiki and give constructive criticism before 5pm EST.

Imagine 1, and a Start for Conduit

In ten years I will be thirty-two. I might have my masters in creative writing, maybe a doctorate in something else. No idea what that will be in. I will be a published writer, and since this is the best of all possible worlds, a successful one. I will have traveled somewhere new and strange at least once every two years, probably more often. I will be able to buy whatever I want from the grocery store and not worry that I don’t have the money.…

An Update on ACT1

So, part of my Act1 was following the author Patrick Rothfuss online. (I tried to come up with a less creepy way to phrase that, but ya'll will understand ^_^) It so happens that he was planning a trip through the area where I live and was looking for places to have readings or signings.

I run a writing group at my university, and I emailed him to see if we could sponsor a reading for him. AND HE WROTE BACK! I do know very well that authors are normal people too, but it was really neat… Continue

ACT1: Unorthodox, But Here We Go

I wanted to shadow the founder of Heifer International, but as part of my research I found that the organization is older than I thought. *blushes*

For those of you unfamiliar with Heifer International, the organization donates animals to low income and impoverished families around the globe in order to create a sustainable improvement in their lives. Here’s the website for more details:…

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
