Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

· Scene One - Episode beings with the traditional image of a lush farm with cattle, chickens and pigs freely roaming around in their pens, untouched by man or technology. A proud farmer and his family stand by a nearby fence watching the cattle feed on grass and the chickens on chicken feed.

· Scene Two – Midday and the sun is not shinning as bright as it did yesterday. This scene introduces the issue of man and science interfering with the production and growth of chickens in a small farming community. Gone are the kraals and wooden fences enclosing the livestock and fowl. Large, bland looking buildings are being erected to house hundreds of chickens in shocking conditions. Construction crews and tech buffs are seen wiring up the chicken houses and installing the required gadgets to raise chicks in record time.

· Scene Three – Sunset. Helpless numbers of small farmers are trying to pick up their lives where the large “generous” food producing organisations took over. One older gentleman is overheard asking his wife “Where will our food and livelihood come from now?” More farming families gather among themselves to ask the same questions, including one raised in season one of Evoke, “What is the future of farming and food production given all this science?”

· Scene Four – It is night time now and a visit to a local farm is taken. A closer look at the new chicken housing is given by a consenting farmer who agreed to upgrade his farm thanks in large part to the bank that approved his loan and the large food corporation that that promised to make him “go big”. Hundreds of chicks are seen crammed in the small space, each carrying more than double its normal weight thanks to the science behind including growth hormones to chicken feed in order for a chicken to have more ‘meat’ on it to allow firms and retailers to charge higher prices for each unit sold.

· Scene Five – Another dull summer morning. This scene opens with smaller chicken producers being taken out of business and not being able to meet their needs and those of the community that depended on them. A visit to the local supermarket sees refrigerators packed with abnormally large chickens that are fling off the shelf, and local farmer stalls without many customers.

The world of farming has been turned upside down thanks to the advancement of technology and man’s contribution to this.

· Scene Six – is the last one where Evoke agents are asked where their next meal is coming from, and more importantly, how it was made. The issue of allowing genetically modified foods is raised as well as the steps consumers are taking to educated themselves as to the differences between naturally raised fowl and livestock and those that have been assisted by science and technology. Another question is raised, has technology gone too far in interfering with our food sources?

· Learn Mission - Try to gain a better understanding of why a select group of organisations is becoming more and more involved in the production of food and why they feel their contribution will ultimately benefit society. What are the health and social impacts of scientifically modifying our food?

· Act Mission – Possibly approach butcheries and large supermarket chains on the topic of where our food really comes from. Do not get too aggressive, but hear them out and seek out the percentage of farmers that still conduct their business organically despite pressures to adopt the numerous technologies being made available by the large corporations. Find out if consumers are really concerned about where and how their food originates.

· Imagine Mission – It is 2043, what noticeable differences do you envision in the health standards and appearances of our children and grandchildren if no technology or science is used to raise and manufacture all food. How sustainable do you think this future will be? What happened to the scientifically touched food?

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
