Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

One of the issues I think nobody has touched yet is what are we referring to when

we say women's empowerment.

From one perspective, the western one, what it means is that women

should have all the apparent freedoms of men.

What we ended up with after the "feminist revolution" is

both parents working to meet the household's needs,

when before it in the 50's one wage earner would suffice,

Jeez, that's Fantastic!!, we have achieved working the double for the same income!!

And now we don't even have to raise our children,

because we simply don't have time for that.

In hindsight, I can see how wanting the same freedoms of slaves,

got us to be slaves for half the price,

double the slaves supply, and the slave price gets to be half.

It's time for Humanism, ladies and gentlemen.

I have to agree with Koshy on that,
you speak truth to power like I've never seen here,
concise too.

And Wintermute, there is a huge difference between working and feeling forced to work. Those who have things to do that they feel are valuable to the world, and that fit their own abilities and interests well enough are happy to do work. And they will go out of their way to work, even if you tell them they don't have to, because we social animals are naturally motivated to procreate (in more ways than just biologically). They are obviously not slaves in any way.

On the other hand, those who feel like they have to choose between taking care of their kid's needs to be a part of a close-knit family by being there for them most of the time, and working for a job to earn enough money to take care of their kid's basic phyiscal needs for food, water, warmth, and light, are far more like slaves, in one way or another, because they lack freedom.

Its not as simple as you make it out to be.

Try costing out any particular thing you use in your home. How much time would it take you personally to learn the skills to create a cabinet for instance. How much an hour do you need to earn to make that profitable?

Businesses exist because they're efficient. They are also externalizing machines. Meaning whenever they can get away with not paying a cost, they don't do it. Labor is the BIGGEST financial component of any business. So if they can lower cost, they'll make more money.

If we were to insist on a living wage, period, more businesses would go out of business. And maybe they should. But it also means theres a larger labor pool looking for work.
Businesses have gotten so efficient that they have priced people out of jobs in the first world. Period. That coupled with school not teaching to the needs of the current market means more people unmarketable. And as we develop, our market is going to change further.

I wish it were as simple as saying women entering the job market has decreased the price people are willing to accept for their labor. But this is not the case.

i believe that gender equality means that everybody has the same freedoms to pursue their goals in life. some women's personalities and skills work well in positions that some societies have stereotyped as just for men; the reverse is also true. PEOPLE should just be able to do what they are best at, without being pigeonh***d by anachronistic perceptions of gender.

however, there are deep seeded notions and beliefs in societies around the world that stand in the way of gender equality and reinforce these bogus preconceptions of gender and roles. i discuss a few in the following blog post:

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
