Some thing that I know for sure is that the sun provides the majority of energy here on earth.

Something that was interesting was "By actively involving the local population in both the research and
analysis, we identify their existing methods for managing crises, which
then helps us develop appropriate food security strategies. In some
cases, there are good coping mechanisms in place that should be
encouraged and reinforced—for example, a communal network of mutual
support. In other cases, existing methods may have future negative
consequences and should be…

Something interesting I read was "the food fight takes place at a time when
experts on both sides agree on one thing -- the number of empty bellies
around the world will only grow unless there is major intervention now.
A combination of the food crisis and the global economic downturn has catapulted the number of hungry people in the world to more than 1 billion. The United Nations says world food
output must grow by…

Today,on Wold Water day, We are raised our voices and claim the availability of clean water and sustainable sanitation. No life without water and the life with no safer sanitation is polluted. No human development in such conditions, that's why all governments, NGO's and to whom it may concern must make the plans and provide the adequate services to support the people for being in the paradise of clean Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.

In 2020 I will be celebrating Earth Day by having and Earth Day walk, this way the energy that is being used is the energy that people have, which is good energy. There will be food that is cooked using safe cooking methods that do not harm the enviroment, their plants that will be planted around the park or neighborhood. Going Green!!! should not be for one day, but every day!!! AGAIN THERE IS NOT PLANET B, WAIT....NO THERE IS NOT!!!

Provide skills, not just finished technologies.
Hmm... that's absolutely true. Firstly we need to improve people's skills, than give them new resources. If they'll have necessary abilities, they will help themselves without others. It takes time, but may be more effective (and cheaper) than "pumping" money, technologies and other stuff in society which can't use it appropriately and solve their problems.

I was reading this article. And something that I found interesting is where it said: "sometimes, the work of food security begins immediately after a natural
disaster, when the infrastructure and food supply of an otherwise
healthy community has been destroyed. In these instances, our efforts
may include emergency distributions of food, cash, and other essential
items to prevent outbreaks of severe malnutrition in the short-term, and
to ensure that crops can be…

Likelemba is an African system of solidarity savings mechanism where several members put a certain sum of money in a "pot" and every month, the total amount contained in the pot is then donated to one of the participating members(Wikipedia). Nowadays Likelemba is been harder to do due to…

We use lights to light our rooms, chargers to charge our phones and well i do not have to go any further technology is around us...all around! We are using power to write blogs, and pretty much just to go on Urgent Evoke we need to use power. An effective way to using power less is, when reading read in the day time and not use up any lights in your room, if it is sunny outside crack open the window and let oxygen and light in. When not using the phone or the computer or any techology unplug…

In my vision, the economy in 2020 had allready collapsed. The transition to a model of society were not easy but in 2020 we'd live in peace and with no money concern. Without money the wh*** concept of work would be reformulated in a way that people freed themselves from it - the automatation of machines will end most of the jobs and people will do things and investigate what gives them pleasure to do. Without money and work there are not time as we know it as well. Without those things the…

I chose this as a Water purification Mission to follow because it not only shows how the organization is helping out but also has annual reports on the progrees and the humble donations that the organization has recieved. One thing to realize is that where ever the major water crisis is this organization going their, with projects and people to make their vision come true. Another reason that I chose this is because this project is a concentrated one in which certain areas a chosen and…

Water Day 2020 was a day of recreation worldwide as billions gathered at rivers, lakes, beaches, and oases. Public celebrations of all sorts, with speeches and ceremony honoring the efforts of local water stewards and scientists. It's amazing to see people swimming in bodies of water expected to dry up years ago, or those considered unfit for humans last decade. Some are taking swimming lessons for the first time due to the occasion, those more experienced are lining up for races or other…

She works in
Roots of Empathy, in a program that fights bullying and child agression in general.
I never heard the term "emotional literacy" but I loved the concept.
I can only be sorry that the program only extend to canadian schools, it should be all over the world (of course there might be things to work out first, but this one is pretty important); and, in my oppinion, the program should include also mandatory art cla**** (a student…

Water filtration systems are great, but they require a lot of money, and they'll take a lot of time. There are steps short of distributing water filters to everyone or building water treatment plants everywhere which we can start with-- the money and the time for these other things will come later.
I decided that the favorite water security program I saw was the World Bank
Scaling Up Sanitation Project.…

My role model for Social Innovation is a website called
Inhabitat:
http://www.inhabitat.comIt's not technically a site like this where people can share ideas; more a place where sustainability and technology news related to Climate Change is reported. However, they do have a Q&A session where people can ask questions, comments where the topics can be discussed and sometimes live, video…
