IMAGINE2

Its the year 2020 and its dinner time:

I am sitting in the dining room with my family and friends. We are having a dinner party. The food I have prepared has mostly been sourced from my very own vegetable garden. I went to our local butchery to buy some meat. It was very expensive, but its a special occasion. Mostly we have vegetables and soya for dinner because meat products are expensive and scarce. The dish is called meaty veg casserole and it tastes absolutely delicious... wow…

The Meal in a Pack

Sitting at the table, enjoying a glass of wine while I sit with my family of 10 at a table. We are a multiracial family as most of my kids are adopted. They tell stories of their days at school while I share stories of people's struggles and their abilitie to rise above. My wife prepared the meal for us and it is smoked chicken in a bed of brown rice with vegetables on the side. The meal comes pre-packaged and all she did was heat it in the oven. It is relatively common then for meals of big…

FOOD: 2020

I will definitely still be living in South Africa. I do not see myself moving to another country in the nearby future, unless something distract happens that would FORCE me to leave. Since, by now, I am no longer a student and will be a working man I hope I will be living in Cape Town. I love this city, the people, the culture, the beaches, the mountains...

I will be eating with friends and family. By now I will, hopefully, have a wife and a child (boy would be great!) to share… Continue

Food in 2020

Since 2010, food actually hasn't changed that much. The one good act in the past ten years has been that scientists, in response to the threat of global warming, have managed to cross-breed some different types of grain to make more sustainable plants. The most popular dish is a form of rice and beans, as it is extremely easy to make and very filling, which means that you don't have to eat as much. This dish was prepared by myself, for my dinner. I bought the "rice" and "beans" (they have…

Convo over Dinner: Fear the future diet.

A warm evening breeze brushes the hair of my beautiful wife, putting the bangs on her head over eyes.

Me:

Pass the Beans please

Wife:

Can you believe it? Just last year we were moving out of New York City.

Me:

Well, with the flood waters kicking in the door of our 2nd story condo what chance did we have?

Wife:

I just miss New York City..

Me:

When does the govt think we can get to eat chicken again?

Wife:

They don't know, the way the… Continue

Food in 2020

In 2020 I think all our food will be synthesised and made however we want.

For example one of my favourite foods is Steak (cooked medium-well)

In this steak i will find all the essential nutrients I require without eating other foods (like vegetables)

If food is prepared this way, we can avoid killing animals (as it is synthesised) and avoid problems such as E.Coli contamination

Imagine a world where even a vegetarian can enjoy a…

so many things we had backwards (dinner2020)

dinner time, march 10, 2020...

time to wash hands! you gotta wash your hands, we've been out in the green house, cleaning the filters, checking the water traps designed to water the food and then move, root like, into the soil where the excess water seeps, slow and deep, to replenish the depleted aquifers. and of course, picking the food. fat, tomatoes, broccoli, tubers, all of they racked up and along the walls, all the way to the arched…

City Soup

I jingled my keys out of my pocket and unlocked the front door. The smell of food I am so accustomed to doesn't hit me as I walk through the entry way. I walk into the kitchen, feeling nostalgia for my mother's chewy brownies, cakes and pasta with sauce. I sigh and set down my bag on the table. Eventually I stand up from the table and amble over to the pantry. Bracing my self I open the white wooden doors. Cringing, I glance at the several cans of green beans, tomatoes, and chicken broth.… Continue

My meal in 2020

A nice evening. The wh*** family gathered around the table. Plenty of dishes there - mashed potatoes (for potatoes are easy to grow, nutritious and wh***some), bread, fish, beans, peas... Actually, I do not see the food of the future different from the one we eat now. Our food is good enough and what I have given as examples are among the major components of a healthy diet. The important thing is that there will be plenty to eat for everyone. It is no good imagining new things, we need to… Continue

Dinner in 2020 - A Good Start

So, here we are, and it's 2020. My boys are a little older now and have continued to learn how to cook and prepare dinner for us and friends. Tonight, we do this a little differently. Tonight we serve our first meal in a homeless feeding center in Guatemala. My little boys are no longer 3 and 4, they're now 13 and 14 and have planned the menu, bought, picked or brought the fixings and have cooked a nutritious, well-rounded meal for their countrymen and women in a rural town in Guatemala.… Continue

Sweet and Tasty

In the year 2020 some of the food that could be there is some stuff we use today. Such as carrots, celery, watermelon, oranges, chicken, beef, bread, and baked goods. In the future some of the food can be Soy Based Chicken [Not real Chicken, Just tastes like chicken [created by Fu-Hung Hsieh from the College of Agriculture] topped with a tangy sauce, in which its vegetables and fruit are not grown with chemicals or fertilizers, made from oranges, watermeleon, carrots, persimmon, and a zurabia.… Continue

IMAGINE2-What will I be eating?

Well here is what you asked...

"Where are you? Who are you eating with?
Where did your food come from? How did you get it?
Who prepared it? What is the dish called? What does it taste

like?"

Well I hope to be living in a nice home somewhere in New York with a nice large backyard with a huge garden.

Also I would love to live near some community gardens as well.

I will be eating with my family and my many pets. (I love animals just so you know… Continue

Eating in March 2020

In March 2020, i will still be living in Edmonton, Alberta and with friends and family eating a meal that is part of the "100 mile diet" - when all the food consumed is grown and produced within 100 miles. I would have purchased the food at the local farmer's market or grocers that deal specifically with local producers. In Edmonton the range of food is honey, bison, beef, many grains, eggs, chicken, berries, vegetables, and what ever a person can grow in a garden, so not many choices. The meal… Continue

March 10, 2020 : The Future of Food

Mutant lab cultured chickens and potatoes were the 1st thing that came into my mind, but that's a little too far fetch for 2020. But anyway,I remember watching this Doc**entary on dvd some time ago, "The Future of Food". A little synopsis on the doc**entary:

So thats also a potato?

I look on my plate, it looks unfamiliar.

I love different foods so i dig in anyway.

I ask my wife the name, and the conversation ensues.

Me:

Hey Hon, whats this?

Wife:

Potato Gratin.

Me:

You sure? did you add coloring? I don't like coloring.

Wife:

Yes, I am sure. And no, I didn't add coloring.

The potato is just purple and red naturally.…

Mmmmmm, food in 2020....

Ooop, here comes Mom. Looks like she's brought dinner home from the local food store. I better wrap this blog up so I can eat! For interest's sake, the food she's carrying comes in boxes made from compressed corn husks. My mom can use them as fertilizer for her home garden. They even painted on a picture of the skyscraper farms where the veggies are grown on the box... Well, painted on with food coloring anyways. It's pretty neat actually: Skyscraper farms allow for farms to be placed in… Continue

In March? alas.

we are eating soup. we aren't out of the winter yet and all we have stored up are beans and lentils and potatoes. so we eat soup. we buy the celery and carrots from the store (our carrots haven't come up yet) but the meat and the the chicken stock come from one of our hens (may she rest in peace)

we are those who come to community dinner at the sparrowhaus which is a sort of community residence/homestead in Milwaukie that was once my home and… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
