This is an Urgent Evoke-inspired action in the form of a story. It is going to be read to five year-olds at a local school tomorrow.
The school has a forest project every two years, so it could be used again.
It is on flickr too.. Later I'll add "notes" on the images giving more information (like clues to be discovered). eg 'they planted 1000…

This is on the
BBC news Climate Change web page and may have been posted before.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8581012.stmIt is a two minute video about the big drought in Australia and a huge desalination plant that they have built there.
Some think it is an overreaction and will prove to be unneccessary.
They highlight…

Willie Smits story about finding a
baby orang-utan and then replanting the
jungle seems like a story that could be made into a picture book for little kids.
After seeing the saddest eyes ever at a local market and later finding and saving a dying baby orang-utan, with donations from
1000's of Indonesian school children he began…

http://evoke.redct.info/search/ I want to shout about Nathanial Fruchter's evoke search engine which works really well. You can now find out stuff that is happening in areas you are interested in and people who are thinking along the same lines as you or all that useful information you are looking for.

I found these bayliss quotes on his wiki page
"The key to success is to risk thinking unconventional thoughts. Convention is the enemy of progress. As long as you've got slightly
more perception than the average wrapped loaf, you could invent
something"
"A good idea turns every cog in your mind, making you scared of bed in case the wh*** machine grinds to a…

Putting two needs together to find solutions The event is lit by candles which we have made from our own hives. We needed light and we needed pollination and now we have bees to polinate and light for our dinners - delicious honey too. The fireplace warms the room and lends glow to our cheeks as it doubles up to bake our potatos, garlic and peppers. It sounds basic but it is perfect. Tiny candles guide our guests to the door, one brings wine from her vinyard, another cheese from her goats,…

New technology could be built into kids shoes, maybe just an insert so it could be used over a longer period of time so that those hot, sweaty, running around, jumping up and down, fast, fabulous, little feet make usable energy.
But as soon as I think of it and google it I find its already there. MIT research.
Well, we have a trampoline in the garden the same spring technology could be used on it. It is 12ft across and has 96 big springs, it is a lot of fun and gets jumped on a lot.…

There are lots of people out there working on solutions to sustainable energy. A quick google came up with
this site about energy inventions and has examples of portable wind generators, human powered cells that pick up energy through the day and can power mobiles, pacemakers, small electrical equipment. Batteries that are self powered. The
Centre for… Continue

I'd be interested to see a map showing the world distribution of Evoke agents, I am guessing that large areas will not be represented by local agents and that is a problem to be addressed. Advance all those projects which allow access to the web, you people who can!

The mysterious recipe with main ingredients being stories and love.
It's a story dinner. Everyone would bring an ingredient and a story to go with it and together we would make make up the recipe and prepare the food while telling our stories. Another condition might be that the ingredient brought along is either home grown or from land or growers known to the person.
There would be no recipe in advance so it is a mystery what we would eat but it would be fresh local grown and…

There is not currently a problem with food security where I live, most people with gardens grow fruit and vegetables, much of the food for sale is locally sourced and people eat a regional cuisine and local or at least national wines and juice.
This week I planted three new trees, two cherry and one apple and fruit bushes, it's that time of year here, ordinary local supermarkets are full of trees, plants, compost and plant foods, it is a planting window.
One simple thing that…

From
the information given below I can see that 1 in 60 people in France own a tractor. France has one out of every 26 tractors in the world. France has three times the European average farmland as percentage of land area. And also has the most diverse crop rotation in Europe. The tractor bit surprises me but on the wh*** it is clear that people here are much more used to growing their own vegetable, where…

Alchemy is coming in 2020 to ask me for help for the Tokyo food crisis.
I imagine an understanding of how to encourage sharing as opposed to hoarding in times of hardship could be useful as hoarding would be a possible consequence of a shortage and also a contribution to it. Also encouraging the evolution of positive and productive thinking.
Media responsibililty needs to be addressed, this has to be done before crisis occur. 'Crisis Horror' type headline sell copy and keep…
