Here in the Philippines, I can see a lot of ways Ushahidi can help our country mainly because almost everyone here owns a mobile phone. The power of crowdsourced information is really applicable especially when resources are limited and it allows evidence based interventions.
I have a lot of ideas mixing in my head right now...so I'll just focus on the ones I can explain the most.
1. For Environmental Watch. Recently, a "rape of the ocean" occurred in my country.…

Well first i would do everything they want me to help them with and i would do my best to get the best footage.I would get as close to danger if they need me to if we can't get as close well i could always zoom in the camera recorder and or take pictures from the very dangerous action news there is.That is what i would do if they need me to help them report with breaking news.

I would try out an alternative current or an exchange system for my self because it would help me safe some food because that way you wont have to eat a lot.It would be good for me because i can get organized.I would also use that method by telling other people and for them so that they can also use it.

Well first the money could change if we all have credit card and it would stink because we need to have some change in our pocket. But if there is a time that money would change it would be when everything is technology and they only accept a credit card. That would be pretty cool because that way they cant steal their money and people would actually have to work for their money. That is what i think if the future money changes, i think that it would be better because easy to buy and to pay.

The creative solution that I think will change the way we use money is by knowing what you are buying.

I think one product that will change how we use money in the future will be a credit card this will help cause it will make it faster to pay for something and there will be less waiting in line for people cause if people pay with cash it slows down the line and with the credit card you just slide it through that one thing and there its payed for.

The way that I would capture the world attention is by creating a wh*** new, H2O maker. All this machine will need is the sun and soil. How it works is that you can leave it out in the sun on some dirt or soil for a while and come back 30 minutes later with 20 gallons of water. It gets the water sort of like a plant. From the ground. It would be 100% solar so you won't need any batteries or source of electricity.

On the stadium topic, I would advise them to tell the people who work there and the soccer fans to help out and make more water pumps and water filters so they can receive more fresh water. One thing that I can do if I was over there, I would make flyers so that people would volunteer in helping out. One thing that we can do is make an aqueduct sorta thing that will drive the water from the ocean to the villages that are in need. We can also hand out life straws so that they wont have to buy…

The most damaging crisis that could occur is a spill in the Alberta Tar Sands. These tar sands are massive deposits of oil. If something goes wrong with the equipment used to transfer the oil from point A to B and causes a huge spill, Ushahidi will have no problems attaining information to create a report. This crisis will no longer remain local as this would be a huge deal and it would extrapolate to a national crisis. I would have to track many things during this crisis such…

I choose "How do People React in a Pandemic?".
To know how to fight a pandemic you have to know how people act and how they behave on extreme situations. What the people feel more: Panic or denial? Most of us would probably say it is panic. But it is not! "Denial is why panic is rare" you can read in the article. Panic is a mechanism that protects human beings against extreme situations.
But there are five ways to reduce denial:
Legitimize… Continue

Do the hard work needed to find a simple solution. As Leonardo da Vinci said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”—and it is the key to this type of design work.

The women I empowered in 2011 have gone on to win Nobel Peace Prizes in medicine and peace in the year of 2020-21. Who would've thought that a group of
women who played rugby would go on to win an award with such prestige? These women on the rugby team felt so empowered that a quarter of the team went on to be women activists and won the Peace Prize while half received their doctorate and became great innovators in the field of medicine. The following year, 2021 the women who started…

It's official, the pandemic has reached north America. Elderly people and young children are to stay home until further notice. Thank goodness DART, Domestic Action Reliable Today, is mobilized and ready to go. In anticipation of this next pandemic, volunteers have their lists of the community's most fragile population. Meals are being prepared and delivered by this heroic group of people. If not for their efforts, elderly and mothers with infants would have to expose those fragile immune…

100 years from now, I would want to spread the knowledge that the problems our world faced in 2011, water and food insecurity, poverty, etc, are all things that are still happening today. It does not matter how far we will go in the future there will always be ways to make our world a better place. Never think your job is done, or there is nothing you cannot do, you have the means to make a difference whether big or small. In saying this, take care of each other, feed the hungry, give drink to…

It's April 1, 2020, and the socioeconomic gap has widened. The people on the government roles for assistance have outpaced the government's ability to provide money or services for all of them. On this day, a new business model has opened its doors. "Barterers R Us" is open for business to provide an exchange of goods and services for those who have time and talent, but are without the economic means to supply their own families with basic needs. Perhaps a family has grown more vegetables than…

“After bitter struggles with official associations of physicians, traditional medicine people, mostly women, finally were able to organize joint meetings in which they shared their experiences and set up plans for collaboration. As a direct result, indigenous women benefitted immensely. Their involvement has been a key factor in cataloguing the plants, herbs, and practices, and in promoting the conservation and availability of curative products and practices. With the support of the National…

Is bartering obsolete? At any given time, somewhere in the world barter is very much being practiced. In Germany after both world wars, bartering rose again as a system to replace the collapsed monetary system. In third-world countries, there are several which don't have a system beyond barter to depend on. In many cases of bartering. People will accept things of intrinsic value for their own products or services with the intention of retrading them in the future, and not for their own use. The…

A huge project that I found out that helps the people in africa get water is the soccer stadium. The design centers on using abandoned cargo containers and transforming them into cisterns, which would capture, filter and store water. With the ability to seat up to 800 spectators, the 64 by 80 foot structure collects rainwater that falls on the playing field and seats. By installing a soccer field or baseball pitch above the cisterns, Pitch: Africa acts as both a community gathering point and a…

In a world of individuality, where we think of ourselves first, there should be an incentive to partiicipate in collectivism. There should be an alternative form of currency to achieve this. The concept would be to give people remuneration for good deeds to their fellow men, women or children. The currency would be an ellaborate plastic bead with an imprinted hollogram so it would be difficult to make counterfeits. These beads could be worn as adornment in any fashion one chooses. They could be…
