EVOKE has gotten me thinking about a number of issues to do with saving the world and social innovation, and it's opened some basic questions. I'd like to see what you come up with, dear agents.
Is it possible to save the world? Have we gone too far? Are there enough people that want the world to be a better place to make it so?
What would be the "win" conditions?
Is it the world that needs to be saved, or are we talking about saving the human race? (i. e. I think one…

This post is in response to many of my fellow EVOKERs who are new on EVOKE platform and are in search of tips to complete different LEARN-ACT-IMAGINE cycle of different missions. Well, you must have a target and goal in life and you must be engaged in something just before joining EVOKE. Please…

The year is 2092. I've decided to visit my house I grew up in and the hospital I was born in. Unfortunately, my parents haven't made it to this year, but I'm happy to say my sister and my cousins are alive and well. Near the 22nd century, being a hundred is less uncommon than it was a hundred years ago.
While I was growing up through the teen years, my adult years, and my senior years, and I've seen things change. During my teen years, I've heard warning of crisis-es;…

Dear EVOKE and EVOKE members,
If you've been to EVOKE today (April 24th) and checked the comments section, you'll have seen a blog called "Sarah O'Connor was suspended." by A.V. Koshy. This Sarah O'Connor is a very big contributor to EVOKE and brought about very interesting facts, and at an accelerated pace. Her efforts have been shown in the Leader Cloud at any given time, and has a wide selection of blog posts and images.
If just so seems that…

I am putting out an URGENT EVOKE. I know that people become polarized to issues but do not let one person highjack this game. Everyone must follow the rules of the game. It is dishonorable in the spirit of the game not to do so. I know that this game is of value and worth. There is no big conspiracy here folks. Time to get back to the real Urgency of what other issues are going on. There are new people to help and inspire. I have gained from this experience and see that others have also. Lets…

Hello everyone,
I've had the topic of food challenge on my mind for the past few days, indirectly so. I'm trying to gain muscle, and all the muscle building articles talk about taking in more calories. So every time I sit down to a meal, I wonder who is starving at the moment. Not to the point…

It's 20 November 2020 and today I will turn 46 years old.
Just ten years have passed since I played that strange game called "EVOKE".
A web game.
Everyone that was playing EVOKE, ten years ago, was thinking the same:"It's only a game, an experiment..".
Nobody realized that, after the closure of the game, the World Bank started funding the most promising, brilliant, scientific, social and cultural ideas, in order to start a new Era.
A new…

One of the things that have struck me the most since I joined EVOKE about a week ago is how much it does
not look like a game. The only game-like mechanic here are the EVOKE Powers System, and it feels a lot more like a tweaked "like" button on any run-of-the-mill online community/blogosphere application.
EVOKE; indeed, resembles an online community rather that a game, with the people who are a part of it and why they joined it being the only thing setting it apart.…

I just joined Kiva.org today! I also found my first borrower, a lady in Nicaragua
who needs help with getting her daughter to university.
Although I'd think Kiva is well-known here already, I was a little surprised to discover that I couldn't find our own lender group on Kiva, and no mentions of one being started here on EVOKE. So, I took it upon myself to start one, which you can find here :- …

I've noticed that a lot of people are sending mails to everyone on their friends lists simply to notify them that they've written a new blog post. It's quite annoying, but in a way I can see why people see this is necessary to spread the information in a blog post they've written.
E-mail notification seems a bit too messy to me, when you have a large number of friends. I've just checked my e-mail account and there are 287 mails in there from the last two days. I know you can switch…

Love.
You can't solve any problem without it.
Seriously! :-)
You might be able to temporarily suppress some of the symptoms of your problem, but the root of the problem will remain, and regrow, until you apply love to the wh*** system that you and the problem are a part of.
Love comes in many forms, and if you are seeking a more detailed approach to your problem, take a look at one way to break down love into it's more practical components here:…

The light mirroring itself off of my windows, and ofcourse.. It struck me just in the eye. I try to cover the light up with my hand as I flail at my cellphone lying at my bedside table with the other. I take a quick look at the clock and with a soft sigh i mumble.
- 06:15.. Ofcourse, ofcourse.. My only day off since.. Who cares. And I wake up at 06:15..
I struggle towards my venetian blinds, flipping them upwards. And quitely i sneak back into bed. The only problem though, is that I'm…

I am not pointing any fingers here. It's only day two here for me and I'm still finding my way around and learning a great deal. However, I've already noticed that a few folks seem to be treating this wh*** thing like one big popularity contest. Doesn't that completely miss the point?
I thought EVOKE was about learning how to better the world and helping and encouraging others in a community to do the same, not stroking your own ego. The points system will become utterly meaningless…

I'm writing a paper about EVOKE. I was hoping you could leave problems you see with EVOKE in the comments of this blog so I can investigate and analyze them to try and improve the game. Thanks.
