Helping

I donated my time to my grandmother and my neighbor and helped them both start up their gardens at home. My neighbor has been doing her garden for years so i provided more assistance than knowledge. My grandmothers garden had been neglected for a while so now that it's nice out we went out over the long weekend that just past and put down various flowers and vegetables. Hopefully by the time i go home next i'll notice some progress.

Respect

I think it's important to respect peoples culture because most wars come from not liking other culture so if culture is respected the world would not have many wars as a result.

The hunt for Joseph Kony

I chose to shadow the organization "Invisible children" on facebook. IC became famous in 2012 due to their Youtube video "Kony 2012" which has already been watched nearly 89 million (!) times. The video is illustrating the main goals of their campaign "Kony 2012" set up to stop the Ugandan mass murderer Joseph Kony.

What makes the goal of "Invisible Children" so special is that they managed to reach millions and millions of people (within a few weeks!) with their campaign to spread…

My first "real" hero

Curtis Chang, founder and CEO of Consulting Within Reach.

I like his opinion to Genetic Medicine!

read this, and start thinking about ...

Will Genetic Medicine Make Us Immortal, or Make Us Monsters?

I send a friend request on facebook, to stay in contact.

"Try living for a week on $2 a day."

Why I chose this?!

Well, there are so many ways to "change the world", eg "like" greenpeace on facebook, donate money or even demonstrate. But to spend money wisely is one of the important. Many of us buy a lot of stuff without thinking . So if they want steak five times a week, they just go to the supermarket and buy it. And because of these mass behavior we get more and more imbalance to cultures which can not afford those behavior.

So just start thinking, next time you enter…

me in 20 years

In 20 years I imagine myself - in the best case - being as happy as I am now, with some objectives in my life having reached already like children, a finished master's degree and hopefully a good job in which I earn enough money for my family. Hopefully in 20 years there will be less missions to be fulfilled because for all peoples life on earth has improved, respectively people have found a way to solve some of the existing social problems in the world. i also hope that some governments…

Make it inexpensive.

There are a lot of these 33 secrets i agree whith like "Innovation (often) comes from constraint" or "Listen to the right people." But in my opinion the most important one is "Make it inexpensive."!

The most glorious innovation is just useless if it the production of it is such expensive that it can't be paid by the people who have a need for it.
In these days everything is about money. Nothing which can really make a difference is for free. This is the sadly truth!

My favourite secret is "Understand". Understanding the problem is the first step to finding a good and reasonable solution. If you don't understand the environment, infrastructure, culture and lives of people you won't be able to find a working solution which will be accepted by the affected people. Many people come up with great ideas, not only in matters of "making the world a better place" but also with simple products. But they will never be successfull if they don't understand what…

Social innovation role model

My favourite role model concerning social innovation is Gerd Niemöller.

The german engineer invented a method to build longlasting and comfortable accomodations for relatively small amount of money.

His type of house is also labeled as "the african house" because his main intention was to offer a house which could help improving the lifestandard on the african continent.

Detailed information can be found in…

In 2022 I will be 36 years old and hopefully married with children. As a father I would be concerned about where my children are going to grow up. Hence, I'd rather live in a modernized/western country with economic stability, security and good educational system. In my best case scenario I picture myself with a job that combines earning good money with improving everyday life.

Since I studied economics, I will be working as an advisor for smart and innovative solutions for the service…

My favorite secret is:

What you have matters more than what you lack!

This secret tells us, that you should focus on the available ressources and not think about "what if". Only than the best possible result can be achieved.

By different decision-making and creativity methods, which are actually available to everybody several approaches can be developed, which will finally lead to an optimal result with der resources you have.

The "what if" thoughts, so the thoughts of…

My favourite social innovation secret

.
I think the best technologie is useless if its not accepted and understood by the people which are supposed to use it.
Its important to create technologies that are easily understood by the users.

For me Sunitha Krishnan is a social hero because she fights child trafficking and sexual exploitation. Proactively she recognized the necessity of citizen-state collaboration in the public system that takes care of such victims. In this case of collaboration Sunitha found a smart solution to two major problems: financial restraints and abuse of government power. Government provides the funds for projects – which civil organizations more than often lack. Civil organizations provide a control…

My vision for 2020

I'm really not sure were and what I will be in 2020, but like many other people my biggest wish is to be healthy and to have a nice family with a dog.
I hope I have found an innovation that people needed and are leading my own little company working on things I like. Hopefully my peripheral vision lead me to a simple innovation that can improve or even solve the tokyo food crisis.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
