Hello everyone,
I apologize for not having made a blog post in the past few days. I spent the start of my week (Monday to now, Wednesday) finishing recording the tracks on the album I'm producing. I only have a small amount left to do tomorrow and then I'll be 100% done. Then theres mixing and mastering; I'll be doing mixing myself, and I'll pass the mastering on to a recording engineer.
Anyways, that's besides the point. I'm here to explain what I'm doing now to…

So I decided to re-watch "Zeitgeist: Addendum", although I've recently received a comment about it that it was childish and outdated. Oh well.
I was halfway through and I caught something that could really work. So I decided to revisit this ACT and post what I have learned.
Here's the link to the entire movie, but I'll be calling out the parts in which they take place. I might be regurgitating a lot, so bear with…

The year is 2092. I've decided to visit my house I grew up in and the hospital I was born in. Unfortunately, my parents haven't made it to this year, but I'm happy to say my sister and my cousins are alive and well. Near the 22nd century, being a hundred is less uncommon than it was a hundred years ago.
While I was growing up through the teen years, my adult years, and my senior years, and I've seen things change. During my teen years, I've heard warning of crisis-es;…

Dear EVOKE and EVOKE members,
If you've been to EVOKE today (April 24th) and checked the comments section, you'll have seen a blog called "Sarah O'Connor was suspended." by A.V. Koshy. This Sarah O'Connor is a very big contributor to EVOKE and brought about very interesting facts, and at an accelerated pace. Her efforts have been shown in the Leader Cloud at any given time, and has a wide selection of blog posts and images.
If just so seems that…

Here's the link for "my map" of my town, Welland, Ontario. You may notice that some spots are heavy drawn on and others have nothing. That's because most of the West side is residential, so there isn't much to work on there. The North-East side seems to have a lot of space open for new projects, and a lot of companies are jumping on that opportunity in the present day.…

After having learned what Ushahidi is, it's interesting to see what would happen if Ushahidi would be toned down to things such as drug problems and not as radical as a hurricane or a tornado or any kind of large scale natural disaster.
My town, Welland, Ontario, is a plain town, but there isn't really any worry about large-scale disasters. The most recent one I can think of was 'White Death', or the enormous snow storm of 1977. The biggest problem in our town is drugs.…

Here's Toronto's (the city closest to me) resilience plan:
Adaptive Actions for Global Warming:
- Planting trees to increase shade and cool the air
- Water barrels to capture rainwater for reuse
- Using drought-resistant plants
- Using cool/reflective surface to reduce heat levels
Adaptive Actions for Flooding/Storm water:
- Using sustainable urban materials, including but not limited to…

If you look at my Evoke page, you will see that I'm not a female. Unfortunately, I can't really put my two cents in without the possibility of what I say being misinterpreted. Certainly, there are advantages in the Western world for being born a female, but I speak for myself when I say that I'd die to be born a male in developing countries. Women appear to be deemed inferior because of tradition, their physical size, etc.
My focus here is not to regard the problem, what I…

I was going through the WomenWatch, and this story caught my attention. The story was about land grabbers; residents who claim land after the passing of someone else. It's really hard to sum it up into one sentence, so allow be to elaborate.
Women and children around the world still don't have safety to their property; it can be taken away from them at a moment's notice, and it has. Take Mozambique for example. It's one of the poorest countries in the world, so some drastic measures are…

Many people are all for electronic money because of the perks they bring. And I'll be the first to admit that at the rate that we're going, we're probably going to develop a way to completely integrate real and physical money or currency in the next 10 years. Hopefully, this will be the end result. I say hopefully, because a few want to make it a completely digital system. Right now, there are so many different electronic currencies, so I'll expect that number will go up exponentially as time…

So I remember looking at a copy of Maclean's while at the dentist's office, and whilst skimming through, I caught a look at an article with an idea for the future of currency. This means this isn't completely my idea, but bear with me. He (I don't know the name of the article, nor the author) explains that we can start using this system of cards with tasks (just like on Evoke) that one accomplished and signed by a witness, can be exchanged for some form of "Kudos"…

Just throwing a random idea out there. We can be more efficient in powering our vehicles. I know many will post blogs about adding efficiency to vehicles, but I'm sure that not too many people have thought of this:
Imagine the spinners on your car powering your car. When a car stops, the rims on a car with spinners will continue spinning, because of the momentum of the rims. Fortunately, that momentum of the rims can be used for energy. Little turbines on each wheel can generate energy from…

I've seen this idea in an ad from a WIRED magazine maybe two to three years ago. It was a straw that converted sea water into regular drinking water. I'm not 100% if those plans came to fruition, but that sounded like an amazing idea. So the straw works by simply sucking on it ahah. It uses various filters in real time to desalt and disinfect water, although salt water tends to be less contaminated than lake water.…

Hmm, these future-y ideas seem kind of funny to me. It just sounds like those essays entitled "How I spent my summer vacations", y'know, the one's that we did in first grade. Granted, I could use a vocabulary greater than that of a first grader's.
So, I really want to throw an awesome Canada Day in 2020. For those that don't know, Canada Day takes place on July 1st, every year since 1867. People tend to be pretty patriotic about…

Hey everyone,
This is the strangest thing. March 10th 2020 will be my 28th birthday. What a coincidence, eh? So the big 2-8. I think I may be living in Toronto, or Ottawa, or some big-ish city at that time. I'll probably have a wh*** new batch of friends, depending on where I go; unfortunately most of my friends will be staying in Welland now, so I'll be separated from them. Maybe I could pay a visit to my friends and family back home on that day. I suppose on that day I'll…

Hello everyone,
I've had the topic of food challenge on my mind for the past few days, indirectly so. I'm trying to gain muscle, and all the muscle building articles talk about taking in more calories. So every time I sit down to a meal, I wonder who is starving at the moment. Not to the point…
